Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh State is a 400-year-old city with a vibrant past. Often referred to as the City of Nizams with a Nawabi lifestyle spelling opulence and grandeur in its very appearance. The splendor comes from vestiges of the Qutb Shahi and Asaf Jahi Nizam dynasties. Today, Hyderabad - the fifth largest city of India magnetizes with its pace of development.
Recently, the city was merged with Secunderabad along with 12 municipalities and eight villages and renamed Greater Hyderabad. This extended city is the second biggest in India and parallel in area to Singapore. Hyderabad is the hub of India's IT industry. Founded on the banks of river Musi, Hyderabad is situated at the heart of the Deccan Plateau, 1760 ft above the sea level. The climate is tropical with hot summers extending from February to June with maximum temperatures of 45 o C. June end to early October is the period of humid monsoons with average annual rainfall of 800 mm. Due to the elevation, October to early February months experience a pleasant cooler climate with minimum temperature of 12 o C. Best time to visit Hyderabad region would hence be October to March.
