Arunachal Pradesh, the easternmost state of India, is known for remote Himalayan beauty. The region of Arunachal Pradesh lies at the India-China border in the extreme north, which makes it a strategically important state for India. It is bound by Assam to the south and Nagaland to the southeast. Besides China, it shares borders with two other neighboring countries of India, namely Burma and Bhutan. The eastern boundary is formed by Burma, while Bhutan lies towards the west. The term "Arunachal Pradesh" is a word in Sanskrit language, which means "the land of the dawn lit mountains". It is sometimes also referred to as the "land of the rising sun" by the country people, since it lies at he easternmost corner of the country. Most of the people living here are of Tibeto-Burman origin, however, the state has attracted a large number of migrants from other parts of the country in recent times. The whole of Arunachal Pradesh is divided into 16 districts and the city of Itanagar serves as the capital of the state. Some of the major attractions for the tourist visiting Arunachal Pradesh include Sela lake near Bomdila, Namdpha Tiger Project in Changlang district, Malinithan in Lekhabali, Rukhmininagar near Roing and the hanging bridges made of bamboo.
